Split the database by number of rows

Splitting a text file

This tool splits a large text file into smaller files, each with a set number of lines you choose.

How to use

  • Select the input file (or files) you want to split.
  • Choose an output folder where the parts will be saved.
  • Enter how many lines each part should contain.
  • If you skip selecting a file or folder, default values are used.

    How it works

    • The whole file is read into memory.
    • It's cut into chunks, each containing the number of lines you specified.
    • Every chunk is saved as a new file named like {original_filename}_partX.txt in the output folder.
    • The output folder is created automatically if it doesn't exist.
    • Output

      After splitting, you'll see:

    • The folder where the parts were saved.
    • A completion message.
    • The total time spent, shown in hours, minutes, and seconds.
    • Notes

    • Files are read as UTF-8, and malformed lines are ignored safely.
    • You can select multiple files, but only the first one is processed right now.
